BIG HAIR SELF CARE YOGA x PECKHAM PALMS

As some of you might know, I maintain my afro big, bold and healthy by trying to keep my hair regime as natural as possible and without too many products. I've been using Big Hair products for the last 4 years now and they are super passionate about self care. And we both believe that wellness is something that we all deserve. So We're kicking off 2019 with another collaboration with Big Hair for their Big Hair Self Care series to celebrate the official launch of Peckham Palms, London's exciting new Black Hair, Beauty and Wellness Destination.

We'll be throwing it down on the mat to some 90s RnB and Hip Hop (is there a better era of music?), and whether you’re a newbie or a bit of a pro this one's for you.

Then we'll slow it down and flow into a guided meditation, where you'll be invited to breathe and stop, and give your mind and body some chill time. We'll end with our sister circle, where we'll grab a cuppa, have a chat and set some intentions for the year ahead.

  • We'll end the sessions with refreshments whilst we mingle with our new curl friends, with snacks and refreshments and a dope Big Hair goodie bag

  • 11am-3pm

  • Mats provided, but feel free to bring your own

  • Please note that this event is for women only

I've been using Big Hair products for the last 5 years now and they are super passionate about self care. And we both believe that wellness is something that we all deserve (and yes, those hours in the shower deep conditioning count as self care).

So we're kicking off 2019 with another collaboration with, Big Hair, for their weekend of Healthy Hair + Self Care to celebrate the official launch of Peckham Palms, London's exciting new Black Hair, Beauty and Wellness Destination.

  • Mats provided, but feel free to bring your own

  • 11am-3pm

  • As always, there will be time to mingle with your new curl friends and afro beauties.

  • All guests will leave with a Big Hair pamper bag.

GYAL FLEX x BLACK WOMEN YOGA

Illustrated by the awesome @kim_art_ee

Illustrated by the awesome @kim_art_ee

A special edition of Gyal Flex - London's first Hip Hop Yoga & Meditation event - where the combination of traditional yoga and meditation practices meet a fiyah playlist of pure bangers (Hip Hop, R&B, Soul and maybe a dash of reggae!) for black women.

If you haven't reached a Gyal Flex before - here's a little bit about how things go down!

Expect to throw it down on the mat as we move through a soulful Vinyasa Flow. You'll be flowing and vibing to a carefully curated playlist to help you create a liccle heat in the body. Then give your mind a chance to relax, come into the present moment and fill your heart up with good-good vibes as we slow down, close our eyes, ground and breathe together.

  • Doors open at 9:45am

  • Class starts at 10am

  • Mats are provided, but feel free to sweat on your own

  • Optional, but a cosy hoodie and socks for savasna and meditation are never a bad idea

  • Do I need a strong meditation or yoga practice? No, you're all good, I gotchu

For anyone that’s been following me or a while, you’ll already know that I’m part of the Fly Girl Collective movement. A platform and community that’s shining the biggest baddest light on women of colour doing big tings and bits in the health, fitness and wellness industry. The founder and my good friend, Matilda has put together a fun and informative night fit for KWEENS. I’ll be on the panel with the inspiring Amaeze Madukah, and lady boss Winnie Awa.

“If you wanna level up in 2019? Join the Fly Girl Collective for a series of inspiring, knowledge-sharing talks with experts and influencers from the health and fitness scene. From workouts and self-care to nutrition and wellbeing, you’ll discover how to live your best life and more – so if you’re keen to shake up your regime, be fly and connect with a dope tribe, come along to this motivational kickstart to your week. And don’t forget your notebooks!”
